Summary
Martin Keown is best known for his time at Arsenal football club and, in fact, it is where he started his career in 1983 and stayed until the 84/85 season, but never played for the club during that time. The action started when he joined Brighton & Hove Albion where he played in 23 games across two season and scored one goal.
He returned to Arsenal for one season and played 22 games, but it seemed he was not ready to settle with the Gunners just yet and went to the Midlands to play for Aston Villa. He stayed at Vila Park for three years, played in112 games and scored three goals. Everton was the next stop and he added to his league tally of appearances and goals by a further 83 games. It was during his last year at Everton that Martin got the first of his 38 England caps and he scored his first goal for his country.
1992 saw Martin make his most important club move and return to Arsenal for the third and last time. It was with the Gunners that he enjoyed the peak of his career playing in an impressive 322 league games, 39 in Europe for his club and 29 internationals for his country. During his time at Arsenal he scored five goals in all competitions.
Martin left Arsenal in 2003 and now plays for first division Leicester.
